Live Updating Interactive Election Map for the NC-03/09 Special Congressional Election Sep 10, 2019

Once per minute, election results from the NCSBE are summarized and uploaded to this site. This page requests and checks that on-site summary file once a minute. If and when the file changes, this page updates the coloring of the map and the vote numbers in the table on the left-hand side.

Coloring

Districts, counties, and VTDs (precincts) are colored according to the party whose candidate has the most votes in that polygon. In cases of ties, one of the tie's members is displayed. An off-black color is used for regions with no results yet.

That just means that a county board sent in their absentee and one-stop figures before any of that county's precincts had reported.
